Architect@Work. Laminam invites you to creative conversations about sintering - not only in the interior!

04 of May '23

"Exteriors" will become the theme of exhibitions, seminars and discussions at Architect@Work 2023. Speaking of which, our unique space will express the idea of Laminam Total Look, the versatility of sintering - panels for use in all parts of a building, both closed and open. Inspiration for discussions on the subject will be provided by a unique creative installation designed especially for the event by an equally unique artist - Marcin Tomaszewski, architect and artist, owner of Reform Architekt.

This exclusive event for architects and interior designers made a real splash a year ago. So it's time for the second edition! There are many reasons to come to the Expo XXI trade fair and exhibition center in Warsaw on May 30 and 31. Among the most important is undoubtedly the presentation of 200 innovative products, selected for the occasion by a jury of industry experts. Seminars also promise to be valuable and inspiring. Valuable for architects and interior designers is, of course, networking, which will gain a particularly inspiring context in the creative space of the Laminam brand.

A versatile material and a versatile creator

This year's Laminam booth is a creative installation inspired by the skyline of a major city. The project is a reminder that Italian sinters stand out not only for their excellent design, but also for their absolutely universal application. The inspiring space was created by an equally versatile artist. He is Marcin Tomaszewski, an architect, interior and furniture designer, owner of Reform Architekt, as well as an artist.

The design direction was suggested to me by Laminam sinters themselves," reveals the author of the installation. - I decided to reach for examples of all available formats, and at the same time to show the variety not only of patterns or colors, but also of finishes and textures. Their universal use in both interiors and exteriors prompted me to create spatial, full-plastic forms. This is how Urban Landscape in Miniature was born," says Marcin Tomaszewski owner of Reform Architekt.

You will be able to meet the author of our space at Architect@Work in person. Marcin Tomaszewski invites you to the Laminam booth on May 30 from 15:00 to 18:00. This is a unique opportunity to explore the topic of sintering (and more!) in conversation with a talented creator and experienced practitioner.

Laminam Total Look, or real estate from all sides

From the perspective of a designer of both interiors and buildings, Laminam sinters have undeniable advantages. With even the largest formats, they are characterized by a small thickness of only a few millimeters and relatively low weight. At the same time, with a vastly different design and easy processing, they are superbly resistant to scratches and stains. Even models with a distinct texture make it easy to maintain perfect cleanliness.

For this reason, in the creative space Laminam appeared on walls, countertops (also symbolizing floors), furniture bodies and on their fronts. They can just as well be used, for example, in the basin of a sink or washbasin, on a terrace or on a facade. And this is both in private spaces and in public facilities - where technical, utility or hygienic parameters must stand at the absolute highest level. Sintered tiles answer even the most exigent needs!

The presentation creatively referring to the landscape of the metropolis reminds us of another very important thread. Laminam panels are also distinguished, among other things, by their inability to withstand extremely low and extremely high temperatures, from severe frost to heat. For designers of buildings, as well as public interiors, the resistance of the sinters to deep abrasion, intensive cleaning, as well as to UV radiation is also of great importance. These advantages make them an excellent and frequently used material for facades, terraces and intensively used semi-open public buildings.

What's new in the city? See it and feel it

The installation by Marcin Tomaszewski is also a presentation of the latest Laminam sintering models. The walls were decorated with models from the Diamond collection, presented this spring at Salone del Mobile in Milan. Here, gazes are drawn to the gently iridescent Polished Starlit surface, which gives a vibrant twinkling star effect. We can reveal that this is the result of using quartz dust. We're sure our guests will also be delighted by the new Caress finish, which makes the stone-hard sinters give a friendly soft feel to the touch. It's worth seeing for yourself.

The sides of the cubbies that make up the urban landscape, on the other hand, were created using the unique IN-SIDE collection. This series takes its name from the innovative Laminam technology, thanks to which the pattern visible on the plane is continued in the cross-section of the board. As a result, all grooves, milling and visible edges not only do not weaken the final effect of the realization, but actually raise its class to a level until recently achievable only with natural stone.

The top surfaces of the "skyscrapers", on the other hand, present sinters from the Seasonal Designs 2023 collection. This is a limited range of Laminam quartz sinters, created especially for customers in Poland and available exclusively in our country. Importantly, the premiere tile designs, made in a low edition, will be offered only until the end of 2023. So this is an opportunity to enrich the interiors of a designed apartment or house with something special and unique.

Universal boards by nature

It's worth knowing that the versatility of applications - which we want to remind you of during this year's Architekt@Work - flows directly from the method of production of sinters. They are created in the process of firing appropriate aggregates at a temperature of about 1300°C. Heated this much, the grains melt together to form an inseparable whole.

The result is the already outlined range of exceptional technical and performance characteristics. And with them (uncommonly) - a set of ecological advantages. In the context of sustainable development, increasingly emphasized in the context of building design, it is worth noting, among other things, the natural composition of Laminam sinters, their longevity and ease of recycling.

But that's still not all. Thanks to the additional Laminam Ambience coating, the sinters on the facade or terrace actively remove air pollutants (VOC, NOx, SOx) in the building's surroundings and fight bacteria. This action is based on a photocatalytic reaction involving the sun's rays. This is another step toward a better future, which we'll be happy to discuss at the meeting.

See you at Architect@Work

Come to our booth to talk about Laminam's range of sinters and their potentials - in interiors and exteriors.
