the architecture of the climate crisis

The climate crisis is a fact. At the same time, we are not talking about climate change, because these have been occurring throughout history all the time. We are talking about a deep crisis that we all have to deal with now.

Architecture contributes significantly to carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. If you count all activities, not only those resulting from the creation and operation of a building, but also the production of material and technology, the consumption of natural resources, it can account for up to about 40 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions. This is mind-blowing.
If we don't start to counteract further changes, we are in danger of an environmental catastrophe with all its consequences.

Therefore Dear Architects, Students,
WE APPEAL that at every stage of your design work, you make informed decisions that take into account ecological risks and climate change.
We are all less and less interested in playing formal games anymore. The era of old-architects erecting monuments to their egos is over. A good architect solves problems and thinks first and foremost about the potential user and the quality that architecture brings. Many of you approach the profession this way, which we support and appreciate immensely.
The era of ethics and knowledge has arrived - so let us all build it in solidarity.
