Maja Krzyżyńska

I am this year's graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk in the field of Architecture of
Cultural Spaces. Even as a child, I grasped at every possible artistic activity that allowed me to close myself in my own world. With the encouragement of my parents, I applied to the six-year High School of Fine Arts in Orlowo, where I defended my diploma in the field of space design - interior design.

I jumped straight from one artistic adventure to another, completing another 5 years (BA and MA) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Through my artistic adventure so far, I've had the opportunity to develop my skills on many levels - from painting, sculpting, design graphics, to designing public spaces. In my works I use my intuition and sensitivity to the environment and context of the designed space. My concepts are characterized by bold ideas, which I base simultaneously on the spatial context and people's needs.

I believe that raising people's awareness of the natural environments that surround us is an indispensable part of transforming cities and their spaces. In my master's degree, I wanted to show the relationship between humans and nature, demonstrating what value access to it is. I believe that such activities show a new perspective on the development of the city as a friendly place and make residents aware of the value of the nature around them. A significant honor for me is the presence of my work at the Art'em All exhibition at Plenum and winning the Grand Prix in Architecture at Gdynia Design Days.

Currently, as a fresh graduate, I am working as a landscape architect in a German design office in Düsseldorf.
