The subject of the competition is the realized undertakings to restore or give new values to public space.

Projects may include, in particular, the implementation in public space of new functional and spatial solutions resulting from investment processes or changes in the organization of space, the effects of which are at the same time of particular social, economic and environmental importance. Undertakings may include investments carried out by both public institutions and private entities, if their scope included activities related to the shaping of public space.

These may include, among others, publicly accessible squares and streets that serve as public spaces, landscaped viewpoints and scenic routes, waterfront spaces, parks and greens, public markets, transportation integration hubs, or spaces related to tourist services or the surroundings of public facilities.

The competition is open to projects that were completed and put into use betweenJuly 22, 2021 and July 21, 2024 in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

prizes

The main prize for the implementation of the best project related to the shaping of public space is awarded under the name "Award of the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship for the Best Public Space in Pomorskie Voivodeship".

The main award and honorable mentions awarded to the investor and the contractor for the implementation of the assessed project are honorary in nature.

The main prize and honorable mentions awarded to the members of the project team, who are the authors of the documentation forming the basis for the implementation of the assessed project, are of a financial nature. The prize pool is 40 thousand zlotys. The decision on the number of honorable mentions awarded and the distribution of funds within the envisaged financial awards is made by the competition chapter.

The competition chapter will be appointed by the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship, and will include, in particular, representatives of the design community and the academic community related to the subject of shaping public space, including representatives of the Voivodeship Urban Planning and Architectural Commission.
