author's description

Art has accompanied man since time immemorial, or man to art - following the quote "Where there is a man - there is also art". - written in 1890 by Stanislaw Witkiewicz, it can be said that art is ubiquitously attributed to man and inextricably linked to him. The interior design aims to create a multifunctional creative space that will give a new dimension to the image of artist-artwork-consumer communication, and even transform into an artist-consumer-artwork process. The space will become a place to popularize contemporary art while preserving the memory of art history and its conversion. While art is eternal, the forms it takes are subject to change according to time and place. The main substantive task is to present young artists their creative process, tendencies, individual attitude and creation of works in a site-specific formula, that is, in a given place and time. The whole project of the building's interior is also based on this term through the adaptation of the old Cracovia Hotel into a place comprehending a wide spectrum of contemporary artistic activities. It is to indicate the latest phenomena and the complexity of trends. The broad goal of art education, any emerging field, is to create favorable conditions for participation in culture, in the process of its creation and active action. To be based on experiencing the phenomenon of synesthesia, that is, cognition through the confusion and stimulation of the senses. Contemporary art is not the domain of the sense of sight alone, but a multi-sensory experience. Touch alone is an element that facilitates cognition and experience. It is important to create the right conditions for interaction - putting the existing viewer in the position of a co-constructor. The project as a whole is intended to meet the multifaceted function and matter of activities.

Project concept

The concept of the interior design is to combine the history of the building with its new, contemporary face, through materials - mosaic, marble lining, concrete, aluminum, facade and form. The contemporary boxes will be constructed of milk glass. The cubes are of appropriate interior color inspired by the square and rectangular elements appearing throughout the hotel, for example, the mosaic or the facade. The combination of materials from two eras and the cuboid/cube forms work perfectly together to create unique interiors. The new color scheme used breaks the elegant materials of the old interior. This will be the first such exhibition in Poland, based on the assumption that the space fulfills an integrative, developmental, relaxing and intellectual function, among others. In one space, the Artist can work, meet with visitors or exhibit his works. The viewer has a space to visit, take part in workshops, integrate with the artist or other visitors. He can also take an active part in the process of creating the most important installation called "Heart" and thus become a "creator". The Heart is changeable, its appearance depends on the number of images created. The more squares filled, the more the screens get closer to each other, forming the walls of the cube. Through this process and the artificial intelligence's processing of the images, one big, cohesive graphic is created. The project also aims to encourage young people to present their work and the work itself. It is intended to show the viewer that the process of creation takes time, sacrifices, ups and downs and continuous learning.
