Results of the XXVI edition of the competition "Polish cement in architecture"

On December 2, 2022, we learned the results of theXXVIth edition of the "Polish cement warchitecture" competition, in which the best projects using reinforced concrete technology completed and commissioned before the end of 2021 were awarded.
Works submitted to the competition could be from the field of buildings: general construction,
industrial construction, engineering construction.
Twenty-four objects were submitted to the competition, which was shaded by a jury consisting of:
- Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys - chairman of the court,
- Marek Chrobak - vice president of SARP,
- Magda Wielogórska - representative of the SARP Governing Council,
- Robert Skitek - winner of last year's "Polish Cement in Architecture" competition,
- Natalia Paszkowska - member of the SARP Competition Judges College, appointed by the SARP Governing Council,
- Zbigniew Pilch - representative of the Association of Cement Manufacturers,
- Hubert Wąsek - organizational secretary of the competition.
After reviewing the applications, the jury nominated 12 sites for the finals, and after further discussion and another vote, the jury awarded 5 sites.
First Prize in the amount of PLN 15 thousand went to the House in Grzepnica by the Maxberg studio.
Second Prize and 8 thousand zlotys, as well as the Special Prize of the Association of Producers of Commodity Concrete in the amount of 5 thousand zlotys, the jury awarded SLAS architekci studio for the extension of the building of the Prof. Józef Świder State Music School of the First and Second Degree in Jastrzębie-Zdrój
to include a concert hall with landscaping.
The jury awarded two equal Third Prizes of PLN 5,000 each. They were given to the studios APA Wojciechowski Architekci for SKYLINER and Grupa 5 Architekci for MONOPOLIS, Office and Service Center.
An honorable mention in the amount of PLN 2,000 was also awarded for (UN)REPEATED HOUSE by archistudio studniarek + pilinkiewicz.
A Special Prize was also awarded for a lifetime of creative activity using reinforced concrete technology to the medusa group studio. The jury reasoned that the award was given in particular for the skillful, sensitive and sincere combination of materials with concrete technology, which acquires additional quality when confronted with the tradition of the place.
During the gala, "Bene Merentibus" medals were also awarded .
The "Bene Merentibus" medal has been awarded since 1979 for contributions to the development of Polish architecture and the Association of Polish Architects. The medal can be awarded to both non-architects and institutions.
This year the medals were awarded to: Prof. Krzysztof Kazimierz Pawlowski, Kinga Nettmann-Multanowska and Marek Roefler.
The SARP 2022 Honorary Award was given to Bogdan Kulczynski.
