descriptionOn December 7 this year, the competition committee consisting of Prof. Rafał Ziembiński (chairman of the committee), Dr. Edyta Gawron, Alicja Knast, Prof. Barbara Kowalewska, Dr. Tomasz Kranz, Piotr Lewicki, Jacek Salwiński, Marta Śmietana, Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, Kamil Karski (secretary of the committee) selected the winners of the competition to develop a concept for the visual arrangement of the permanent exhibition of the Museum-Memorial Site of KL Plaszow in Cracow. German Nazi labor camp concentration camp (1942-1945) (in organization).
The purpose of the competition was to select a substantively justified, aesthetically pleasing and functional concept for the visual arrangement of the permanent exhibition in two locations—the newly designed Memorial building and the historic building, the so-called Gray House.
As part of the competition work, participants were to prepare a proposal for the arrangement of the exhibition hall in the Gray House, a concept for the layout of the exhibition in the Memorial, a detailed layout of one segment of the exhibition in the Memorial and a concept for the presentation of archaeological artifacts.
Six works were submitted for the competition. First Prize was awarded to the Koza Nostra Studio from Cracow, Second Prize to the Wzorro Design studio from Katowice, and Third Prize to the ART FM studio from Cracow.
This was the second competition to develop a concept for the visual arrangement of the permanent exhibition of the Plaszow KL Museum. In last year's installment, the committee did not name a winner, with Third Prize awarded to Warsaw-based JAZ + Architekci Żmijewski Jaworski studio.
