description

In March 2022, we announced the winners of the international competition "Design of the Future. Best Design SunRoof 2021" organized by SunRoof, an international startup developing solar roofs and technology for smart energy management.

The goal of the competition was to popularize sustainable architecture and smart, climate-friendly solutions.

In this year's edition, the organizers envisioned two categories: the house of the future and the carport of the future. Objects were to be designed with a SunRoof solar roof using BIMobject and the Grenton Smart Home System.

The projects submitted from all over the world were evaluated by a jury consisting of:

  • Lech Kaniuk - SunRoof,
  • Stefan Gullgren - ambassador of Sweden to Poland,
  • Michal Derc - BIMobject,
  • Bartłomiej Gierszyn - Grenton,
  • Ivana Kildsgaard - Tengbom,
  • Agnieszka Zielińska - Scandinavian-Polish Chamber of Commerce,
  • Daniel Cieślik - Anta Architekci studio,
  • Natalia Chylinska - Builder Poland,
  • Weronika Konior - Architektura-murator,
  • Wojciech Rynkowski - Extradom,
  • Ireneusz Polaczek - modern STODOŁA,
  • Jacek Jakubowski - HouseCollection,
  • Krzysztof Soloducha - Sztuka Architektury,
  • Michal Pierzchalski - Architektura.info.

The submitted works were evaluated in terms of workshop, visual and aesthetic aspects.

The competition jury awarded main prizes in two categories: house of the future and carport of the future, and honorable mentions in each.

"This year's winners showed an extremely interesting approach to the theme of Design of the Future. Both the house and carport designs incorporated out-of-the-box solutions, and the winning designs impressed with their intelligent combination of ecology and modernity." - Michal Derc of BIMobject said.

In the Home of the Future category, the Grand Prize of €4,000 went to Dominik Gomolka for his Resilient House project.

Honorable Mention in this category went to Talal Ammouri for his concept The House Of The Future.

In the carport of the future category, the winner was Milosz Mleczko with his Versatile Carport project. The architect received 2 thousand euros.

An honorable mention in this category went to Iga Soczawa from the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology for her Carport Pro project.
