descriptionThe competition on the role of light in architecture "Light up! With AQForm." The competition was divided into three categories: Light up the space! was a category for practicing architects and designers concerning projects implemented with AQForm lighting in Poland or abroad (the category had two subcategories: for private spaces Light up the space : private, and public spaces Light up the space : public); the category Light up creativity! aimed at practicing architects and designers, concerned conceptual designs for spaces designed with AQForm lighting (like the previous one, it consisted of two subcategories: Light up creativity: private, and Light up creativity: public); a category for art and design students Light up the future!, whose subject was to present a concept of light for 2050.
The goal of the competition, the organizers wrote, was to identify among professionals the best projects in which lighting plays an important role, both among conceptual submissions and submissions of projects already completed. Meanwhile, in the category Light up the future! the jury was looking for the most creative lighting concept of the future.
The jury included Dominik Wroński (JEMS Architekci), Krzysztof Ingarden (Ingarden & Ewý Architekci), Kamil Białas (editor-in-chief of WhiteMAD magazine), Agnieszka Gruszczyńska-Hyc (editor-in-chief of Dobre Wnętrze, M jak Mieszkanie and urzadzamy.pl), Emilia Cieśla (head of the Department of Interior Design at the University of Arts in Poznan), Tad Trylski (lighting designer in architecture and theater) and Bohdan ( Biś) Lisowski (president of the Association of Polish Architects). The jury was chaired by Barbara Olesiak-Kasparek of AQForm.
In the category Light Up the space! Private, 1st place was won by the design team consisting of Ewa Kozanecka and Patrycja Stelmach, 2nd place was awarded to Agnieszka Krasowska, 3rd place went to the design team consisting of Marta Landowska and Malgorzata Landowska, and honorable mention went to Piotr Mrzyk.
In the category Light Up the space! Public, 1st place was awarded to the design team composed by Joanna Sztorch-Wysocka and Magda Totleben, 2nd place to the design team created byAgata Ferenc and Maciej Ferenc, 3rd place was awarded to the team composed by Joanna Siemionczyk and Marta Sawaryn, and honorable mention was awarded to Agnieszka Lipień.
In the category of Light Up Creativity! Private 1st place was awarded to Bartlomiej Drabik, 2nd place to Veronika Kazmierskaya, 3rd place went to Nastazja Kropidłowska, and honorable mention went to the design team composed of Katarzyna Fresel-Karwecka, Daria Pawlak, Łukasz Korczyński and Anna Dobrowolska-Bilka.
In the category of Light Up Creativity! Public, 1st place was won by the design team consisting of Magdalena Mlynarska and Sofiia Lantsova, 2nd place went toAnna Lesniak-Elsayed, 3rd place was awarded to Adam Seweryn, and honorable mention went to the team consisting of Jakub Zurawicki and Joanna Kubiak.
In the category of Light Up the future! 1st place went to Magdalena Anzorge-Kurkowska, 2nd place was awarded to the design team consisting of Aleksandra Kwaśniewska, Marlena Kostrzewa and Karolina Gruba, 3rd place was awarded to Marta Zwarycz, and honorable mention went to Aleksandra Świąder, Monika Żywiecka, Julia Skowronska and Jakub Jachimek.
Nastazja Kropidłowska's work will be published in the Dobre Wnętrze monthly and on the whiteMAD portal. Magdalena Młynarska and Sofiia Lantsova (1st place), Magda Koziej and Michal Koziej (2nd. Place) and Iwona Jałocha, Bartłomiej Drabik, Nastazja Kropidłowska, Magdalena Gajda and the design team composed of Katarzyna Fresel-Karwecka, Daria Pawlak, Łukasz Korczyński, Anna Dobrowolska-Bilka (3rd place).
The team created by Magdalena Mlynarska and Sofiia Lantsova, as well as Agata Ferenc and Maciej Ferenc (double honorable mention) also received a publication on the whiteMAD portal.
