description

At the end of May, a competition organized by Budnex and the Architecture Department of Poznan University of Technology to develop a concept for the development of the Central Square of the European housing estate in Gorzow Wielkopolski was settled.

Architecture students of the Poznan University of Technology took part in the competition. The awarded works are to be used in the development of the implementation project.

The aim of the competition was to develop such a concept that, as the main public space of the housing estate, the square and the accesses to it would constitute a friendly and maximally green space for spending free time for the residents of the housing estate, as well as encourage them to visit the nearby Gorzowskie Murawy (Gorzów Grasslands) reserve, to which the aforementioned green belt will lead.

Forty-six works were submitted for the competition. In the course of deliberations, the jury awarded first, second, third prizes, two honorable mentions and three honorable mentions. The best concept was proposed by Karolina Krakowska and Karolina Sawala.

The jury deliberated as follows:

  • Dr. Eng. arch. Robert Ast, prof. of PP - Chairman of the Competition Jury
  • Dr. hab. inż. arch. Przemysław Biskupski - architect, independent expert
  • Dr. hab. inż. arch. Radosław Barek, prof. PP - architect, independent expert
  • Andrzej Nuckowski, M.Sc. - Vice President of the Management Board of Budnex Deweloper Sp.z o.o.
  • mgr inż. arch. Piotr Wiśniewski - architect
  • M.Sc. arch. Monika Golec - Marketing and Sales Director of Budnex Deweloper Sp. z o.o.
  • dr inż. arch. Krzysztof Borowski, prof. PP - Juror Referent, Secretary of the Competition.

The implementation of the development project of the housing estate will be carried out in stages, with the construction of subsequent buildings that will be adjacent to the area and will mark its boundaries. First, the green area between the existing building 14 and buildings 16 and 17, which are currently under construction, will be developed.
