Results of the 5th edition of the NIAiU Award competition - "Shared space is a value"

descriptionOn October 7 this year we learned the results of the 5th edition of the NIAiU Award competition "Common space is a value".
The purpose of the competition is to promote the best diplomas and motivate male and female students to take up the topic of common and public spaces or public facilities in their master's theses.
The award is always given in two categories: design and theoretical.
This year's edition concerned diploma theses defended in 2021/2022 in the fields of architecture and urban planning.
The evaluation of the submitted theses was carried out by the Competition Jury, composed of:
in the design category:
- dr. hab. Bolesław Stelmach (director of NIAiU)
- Magdalena Federowicz-Boule
- Dr. Jerzy Grochulski
in the theoretical category:
- Dr. Tomasz Slawinski (deputy director of NIAiU)
- Tomasz Fudala (curator of the MSN)
- Prof. Marta Leśniakowska, PhD (IS PAN)
From among the submitted works, the Competition Jury decided to award the Main Prize in the practice category in the amount of PLN 10,000.
and the Main Prize in the theory category also in the amount of PLN 10 thousand.
Two equal honorable mentions were also awarded in each category in the amount of PLN 5 thousand.
In the practice category, the Main Prize went to Martyna Florek author of the thesis "Urban agro-culture center - metamorphosis of post-industrial areas" prepared at the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology under the supervision of supervisor Dr. Tomasz Głowacki.
In the category of theory, the Grand Prize went to Hanna Kraś author of the thesis "Psycho-social ethics of designing residential districts" prepared at the Faculty of Visual Culture Management of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under the supervision of supervisor Dr. Jan Sowa.
