Results of the 13th edition of the nationwide open student architectural competition "Interior, Light, Shadow"

On June 21 this year, the SARP Krakow Branch gallery hosted the opening of the virtual exhibition of the "Interior Light Shadow" competition, organized by the Department of Residential Environment Formation of the Faculty of Architecture of Krakow University of Technology under the honorary patronage of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of Krakow University of Technology, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of Krakow University of Technology and the SARP Krakow Branch.

During the vernissage the awarded works in this year's edition of the competition were presented, whose task was the spatial-functional arrangement of a selected architectural interior in combination with an entrance area, garden, public space, small architecture, vegetation with the use of preset products and/or inspired by a selected work of art, and in which light plays a significant function.

29 works were qualified for the competition - 15 projects in the Residential Interior category and 14 in the Non-residential Interior category.

The evaluation of the works was carried out by a jury consisting of:

  • Dr. Agnieszka Wójtowicz-Wróbel - Deputy Dean of PK, chairman of the jury,
  • Prof. Grażyna Schneider-Skalska - vice-chairman of the jury,
  • Prof. Marek Blazucki - dean of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow,
  • Ewa Reszka - Fagerhult,
  • Anna Petelenz and Franciszek Araszkiewicz - AP Kunstart Fund,
  • Ida Mikolajska - Mikolajska Studio,
  • Prof. Justyna Kobylarczyk - who teaches the subject (A-3) at PK,
  • Prof. Magdalena Jagiełło-Kowalczyk - teaching the subject (A-3) at PK,
  • Prof. Ewa Stachura - teaching the subject (A-3) at PK,
  • Prof.Beata Malinowska-Petelenz, Ph.D., Professor at PK - teaching the subject (A-3)
  • Wojciech Korbel, Ph.D., Professor at PK - lecturer (A-9),
  • Dr. Małgorzata Petelenz - secretary of the competition.

The commissioner of the competition was Dr. Patrycja Haupt, prof. PK.

In the Residential Interior category, the jury decided to award Kinga Luczynska as many as 5 prizes! The student received: 1st Prize from the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs at PK, 1st Prize from the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at PK, Prize for the best interior design - from T3 Atelier, 1st Prize for the best use of interior lighting and 1st Prize for the best use of artwork.

In the Non-Residential Interior category, Jakub Teter triumphed, receiving the 1st Prize of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of PK, the 1st Prize for the best interior design - T3 Atelier company and the Prize for the best use of a work of art.

The 1st Prize of the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of PK was awarded to Agnieszka Niczyporuk.

II Awards: the Award of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of PK, the Award for the best interior design - of the T3 Atelier company, and the Award for the best use of a work of art went to Tomasz Tabor.
