Where does art live?
The architecture of sensibility

Peter Zumthor in his book "Thinking with Architecture" writes: "Architecture has its own area of existence. It remains in a uniquely corporeal relationship with life. As I see it, it is fundamentally neither a message nor a sign, but a setting and background for transient life, a sensitive vessel for the rhythm of footsteps on the floor, for concentration at work, for the silence of sleep."

Taking up the theme of sensitivity architecture, we wanted to touch more deeply on this kind of humanistic basis of design. That's why we chose examples that perhaps formally do not produce the "wow" effect so often desired in architecture, but rather follow the needs of the users and tell a story about place, purpose, context, and often experiment with space as well. The artists' house and studio by Piotr Brzoza have an unusually simple form, additionally opening up to the surroundings and framing views of the Malopolska fields. The exhibition titled. "Wyspianski" is a dialogue between the present and the past contained in a clear visual text. The tower housing the Lafayette Foundation's art center eschews spectacular forms in favor of logical function and purpose. The Fengying Stone Art Museum sculpts space with simple gestures, inviting nature inside. Each of these projects melds with the site, creating its own story, its own tale of life and art.
