"Print. Form. Light. Design a Book Cover" Contest

The Polish Lighting Industry Association, in collaboration with the architectural firms Goczołowie Architekci Studio Autorskie and OVO Grąbczewscy Architekci, as well as the SOMA agency, the organizer of the International ŚWIATŁO Fair in Warsaw, has announced a design competition for young creators—“Print. Form. Light. Design a Light Fixture.”

Form. Light. Design a Light Fixture.”

Objective

The “Print. Form. Light. Design a Light Fixture” competition is a continuation of the successful format from 2025, in which the main objective was to design a light fixture using 3D printing technology. In this year’s edition, the organizers have expanded the scope of the project. Participants will have the opportunity to design a lampshade, housing, cover, or screen for LED lamps based on the MOD CCT LED module.

Terms and Conditions

The competition is international and consists of a single stage. It is open to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in architecture, interior architecture, design, and other artistic and technical fields at public or private universities. Participants may enter the competition either individually or as part of a team.
The theme of the competition is to design a housing, shade, cover, or diffuser for LED lamps in which the light source is the MOD 12–24W CCT (29304) LED module, available from Kanlux. The designed form should intentionally shape the distribution of the light beam within the interior, create the character and atmosphere of the space, while also taking into account the practical production constraints of 3D printing technology.
The design may take the form of: a ceiling fixture (LED ceiling light) intended for installation on a ceiling or wall, or a suspended or surface-mounted fixture with a three-dimensional form.
