Expansion boxes are an extremely important component of a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery. In order to ensure optimum performance of such a system, Alnor has launched the innovative FLX-PLO-EPP expansion boxes, which are made of foamed polypropylene, or EPP for short. With this solution, FLX-PLO-EPP expansion boxes offer a number of advantages in terms of insulation, installation, airtightness and performance.

Thermal and acoustic insulation

The most important feature of FLX-PLO-EPP expansion boxes is their excellent thermal insulation. By using foamed polypropylene, these boxes eliminate the need for additional insulation with wool or rubber. The EPP material acts as a thermal insulator, helping to minimize heat loss as air flows through the system. In addition, FLX-PLO-EPP boxes have excellent acoustic properties, dampening the noise generated inside the box and contributing to comfortable use.

Tight joints

To ensure maximum performance of the ventilation system, the tightness of the connections is extremely important. FLX-PLO-EPP plenum boxes are equipped with factory-installed EPDM gaskets on the spigots to guarantee airtight connections. This eliminates the risk of air leakage, which translates into system efficiency and energy savings.

Fixing the flexible duct

Mounting the FLX-HDPE flexible duct is simple and convenient thanks to a special bracket that mimics the shape of the notch on the ventilation duct. This makes the attachment of the duct stable and does not require additional sealing with insulation tape. It is enough to push the cable onto the spigot of the box.

Low pressure drops

The aerodynamic internal shape of FLX-PLO-EPP plenum boxes contributes to minimizing airflow resistance. As a result, these boxes have significantly lower pressure drops compared to standard metal boxes on the market. This means more efficient operation of the ventilation system and lower energy consumption.

Corrosion resistance and durability

Made entirely of high-quality plastic, FLX-PLO-EPP plenum boxes are corrosion-resistant. Unlike metal boxes, there is no risk of rust, which contributes to the long-lasting and reliable operation of the ventilation system.

Easy installation and flexibility

Installation of FLX-PLO-EPP plenum boxes is quick and easy. The boxes have mounting brackets and through-holes of variable diameter, allowing them to be bolted to the ground. In addition, the box flange is designed to allow height adjustment by cutting off excess material. This makes the installation of the boxes customized.

Summary

FLX-PLO-EPP expansion boxes are an innovative solution for mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery. Made of thermally and acoustically insulating EPP plastic, they offer excellent insulation, tight connections, low pressure drops and high durability. Simple installation and flexibility make FLX-PLO-EPP plenum boxes a convenient solution for ventilation professionals. Thanks to them, it is possible to create an efficient and energy-saving ventilation system that provides comfortable conditions inside residential buildings.
