Electricity is becoming increasingly green. The percentage of renewable energy in the electricity mix is expected to rise to as much as 80% by 2030. Therefore, it makes sense for many people to switch their heating system to heat pump technology based on electricity. However, it is necessary to lower the supply temperature. The lower the temperature the heat pump must provide, the more efficiently it can operate.

The key factor here is the hot water supply. If it is provided centrally by the heating system (as was the case before), a high temperature (< 60 °C) is required for hygienic reasons. Continuous heating, storage and distribution of hot water wastes a lot of energy.
We recommend completely disconnecting space heating from water heating. Hot water is only needed for a few minutes a day. At best, we will produce such quantities of water on time without wasting energy with electric instantaneous water heaters. This separation of systems saves up to 40 percent of energy. In addition, mounted decentrally, close to the water point, electric instantaneous water heaters offer a high level of convenience because temperatures can be set individually. As the point of use and the heater are close together, hot water is available immediately at all times.

There is a suitable device for every application. The "DSX Touch" comfort instantaneous water heater is recommended for the bathroom, and the "CEX-U" compact instantaneous water heater for the kitchen. A small flow-through water heater "MCX" will be perfect for the sink. If the flow routes are very short, electric instantaneous water heaters can also be installed directly in the utility room or basement. The distribution box and water pipes are usually easily accessible here.

If the hot water supply is disconnected from the heating system, the supply temperature can be lowered, and in summer even the heating can be turned off completely. Disconnecting the hot water heating from the heating system is an important step in a renovation that saves energy and makes it much easier to switch to a heating system that uses renewable energy.
