Emilia Cholewa

Graduate of the Architecture Department at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznan. During her studies, she participated in architectural competitions, including the development of the space around the Szyc Stadium and the "Free Bogdanka" project. Her works have been published in Architektura & Biznes magazine and presented at exhibitions in Poznań.

In her reflections, she focuses on the cultural landscape, architecture in the context of the history of a place and the search for genius loci. She is particularly interested in vernacular architecture and narrative approaches to design.

The topic of her master's thesis was the revitalization of West Pomeranian villages in the context of the challenges of depopulation, the disappearance of local identity and fragmented transformation of space. Using three villages as examples, she developed a renewal strategy based on an analysis of the tangible and intangible layers of the landscape and the author's catalogs of interventions and adaptations.

An important tool for her to observe and interpret the phenomena taking place is photography.
