Studio Libeskind

Studio Libeskind is involved in the design and development of a wide variety of urban, cultural and commercial projects around the world. Our Studio is a collaboration of architects and designers who believe that architecture is the practice of optimism. We approach our projects with the attitude that in order to create great places, one must believe in the future, but also remember the past.

The Libeskind studio's architecture emerges from the premise that a building should be expressive and reflect contemporary life. Innovation is at the core of our design process. We believe that bold design must be implemented using sustainable technology, and we firmly believe that the art of architecture is about creating maximum impact within the constraints of budget and functionality. We know from experience that great architecture comes from working with great clients, but architecture is a public art and we have a responsibility not only to the client, but also to the communities and cities in which we build.

Daniel and his partner Nina Libeskind founded Studio Daniel Libeskind in Berlin, Germany in 1989 after winning a competition to build the Jewish Museum in Berlin. In February 2003, Studio Daniel Libeskind moved its headquarters from Berlin to New York when Daniel Libeskind was selected as the master planner for the rebuilding of the World Trade Center.
