Competition for professionals "Common Space - Realizations" organized within the framework of the 8th International Biennale of Interior Architecture.

The purpose of the "Common Space - Realizations" competition is to identify the best in terms of visual, functional, technological and substantive interior designs in two categories: residential interior and public utility interior, the implementation of which took place between 2021 and 2024 .

The purpose of the competition is to identify the best interior designs in terms of visual, functional, technological and substantive aspects in two categories: residential interior and public utility interior, the implementation of which took place in 2021-2024, up to the date of project submission, excluding projects submitted to the previous edition of the competition.

An important aspect of the competition is to emphasize the role of the interior architect in shaping the living environment in both private and public areas, to pay attention to the impact of designed interiors on the well-being of their residents, a coherent idea andoriginal design solutions taking into account the context of the place and the user, based on sustainable design and functional, technological and material solutions in line with contemporary knowledge, science and technology.

terms and conditions

Participation in the competition is based on the submission of implementation projects in the field of interior architecture. Participants in the competition may be persons with the title of interior architect, with a directional university degree.

The competition is open to individual participants and design teams. The condition for participation of the team is the presence of a professional interior architect in its composition.

To enter the competition, a scan of the signed application form must be sent to pro-iidb@asp.krakow.pl by March 19, 2024. Completed and sent to the aforementioned address, the application authorizes the entry of one project in the competition.

No more than three works may be submitted in each category: private interior and public interior. The works selected by the jury will be presented in an exhibition.

Participants in the competition may only present their works, to which they have full copyrights. In the event that there are several authors, all authors must be listed in the application.

  • submission of the application for admission to the competition: by March 19, 2024,
  • deadline for submission of digital works: by March 27, 2024,
  • selection of winners: by April 6, 2024,
  • announcement of results and vernissage: April 12, 2024.

prizes

The total pool of prizes in the competition is PLN 30 thousand gross. The following prizes will be awarded in each category(private interiors, public interiors):

  • Grand Prix of the 8th International Biennial of Interior Architecture,
  • 1st Honorable Mention,
  • II Honorable Mention.

Theexhibition of the competition works will be organized in the Malopolska Garden of Art in Krakow within the framework of the 8th International Biennale of Interior Architecture and will be opened on the day of the announcement of the competition results and presentation of awards.

The works will be evaluated in terms of:

  • consistency of ideas and original design solutions,
  • functional, technological and material solutions consistent with contemporary knowledge, science and technology,
  • correctness of the organization of interior zones,
  • creative contribution to arranging the space of social / interpersonal relations and the relationship of man with nature,
  • the context of the place and the user,
  • aesthetics of the solutions used,
  • selection of equipment and the originality and functionality of individually designed interior elements,
  • artistic and individual level of design presentation,
  • sustainable design.

jury

The jury of the competition will be comprised of respected personalities from the academic and design communities, as well as those associated with popularization activities in the field of art, interior architecture and design in the broadest sense. The full list of jury members will be announced by the organizers by January 30, 2024.
