March 20 this year. The Municipality of Włocławek has settled a one-stage and implementation competition recommended by SARP for an urban and architectural concept for the reconstruction of Wolności Square in Włocławek with the construction of an underground parking lot.
The competition sought the best solutions for the development of the square, which would improve traffic flow within the square and raise its technical quality and aesthetics.
The competition jury composed of:
  • Prof. Ewa Kuryłowicz - chairwoman, SARP Warsaw Branch
  • Anna Pawlicka-Zabojszcz - referee, SARP Bydgoszcz Branch
  • Maria Jankowska-Olbratowska - SARP Bydgoszcz Branch
  • Krzysztof Kukucki - deputy mayor of the city of Włocławek
  • Jolanta Stańczak-Bromirska - City Architect, Director of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture
  • Tomasz Celmer - Director of the Investment Department
  • Paweł Żyżelewicz - Director of the Department of Roads, Public Transport and Energy
awarded three prizes and four equivalent distinctions. First Prize went to the team consisting of: NM architects Tomasz Marciniewicz, Zuzanna Szpocińska, Jerzy Grochulski, Second Prize was awarded to the team consisting of: JKL Jakub Kozaneczko, Konrad Zaborski, Łukasz Modrzejewski, Aleksandra Walkowska, and III - Kontra Spatial Planning Studio Dorota Fryndt-Hałaburdzin. Honorable mentions were awarded to: Artur Baranowski and Alicja Salamońska, Bartłomiej Bąbiński BBG-PROJEKT, Costa Project and a participant who did not consent to publication of data.
