Jury opinion

The work concerns the future life of abandoned train stations in the Polish-Slovakian borderland. These stations are located on a single functional line connecting Slovakia with Poland, as the subject of consideration takes their possible use for the needs of local communities, as well as adaptations and development [...] The value of the work is the presentation of possible model solutions for the stations and their adaptation from abandoned buildings into local centers serving the communities of the studied localities. The jury highly appreciated the catalog accompanying the work, the created database of abandoned stations of the mentioned railroad line, and the author's use of archival materials.
