The work is a proposal for a counterfactual narrative about the beginnings of the Polish state and the 10th century, which is mostly shown through the prism of the baptism of Mieszko I and the royalist perspective. In line with feminist ethnoarchaeology and the author's beliefs, the narrative adopted in Wilderness Tapestry is an attempt to fill in the gaps in the so-called "Great History" written by men mainly about themselves. It shows the dependent life of a small community depending on the changes of the seasons, whose attention is focused more on surviving childbirth or a gum infection, rather than, for example, following the decisions of knights on horseback.
