abstract
The thesis analyzes the potential of small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) in the context of revitalizing degraded industrial sites, while also introducing the technology of SMR power plants. It highlights how SMRs can contribute to sustainable development by generating clean energy and creating jobs, with minimal environmental impact, while utilizing contaminated and decommissioned land. The design study includes an SMR nuclear power plant building and a site development concept, showing the potential for expansion with additional associated buildings. The architecture of the power plant building draws inspiration from a painting by Krakow artist Jan Pamula, "Squares in a Square."
