opinion of the Competition Jury

The Competition Jury awarded the first prize to work No. 2 for the high attractiveness of architectural solutions and consciously designed building. The potential of the project is high. In terms of land development, the scale of the object was consciously included in the context of the location of the new investment, linking the new building with the area lying deep inside the plot with the existing high greenery supplemented with recreation in the form of micro squares nested in the system of paths. From the side of Ostródzka Street, the designed building in front of the front facade
has a zone of arranged greenery with an interestingly located café. This area was connected to the green - recreational area located behind the building and properly designed communication in the area. The work presents attractive interior architectural and functional solutions with a very clear and elegantly planned entrance zone with archaeological excavations in the floor.

The functional-utility layout proposed by the author of the work seemed to the Competition Jury the most adequate to the Employer's needs presented in the Competition Regulations.

recommendations of the Competition Jury

  • strengthen the position of the entrance to the building as a space more strongly articulated in the front façade,
  • diversify the foreground of the building from the side of Ostródzka Street and in the entrance area by planting high greenery,
  • for the underground storey provide access/technical access - communication on the site and in the building (to storey -1),
  • plan additionally in the recreational part of the green area an educational display for archaeological exhibits,
  • redesign the functional layout of the administrative and office part of the facility by arranging additional rooms, including for people with disabilities (those in wheelchairs) to work,
  • design a more efficient layout of the zones of locker rooms, drying rooms and pool changing rooms.
