Chariot of Life

The Chariot of Life is a MEDEVAC-type vehicle for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield. It consists of an off-road trailer Da Orffo with suspension designed for driving in difficult terrain and an evacuation module for transporting the wounded on a stretcher under the care of rescuers. The project is a response to Russian aggression in 2022. The trailer's low weight and high cushioning create an innovative solution for transporting an injured person by any vehicle equipped with a hook, regardless of its current loading. The concept was consulted with rescuers and battlefield medics. Two vehicles have been realized and delivered for a Ukrainian military unit and a Polish rescue team.
In recent years, I designed off-road trailers together with my father. When the war in Ukraine started, we wondered how we could help. We saw that Ukrainian troops were transporting the wounded in civilian off-road vehicles in very uncomfortable conditions, such as in trunks. We thought that our suspension solutions were good enough that a person could be transported in a comfortable, safe manner," says the author.
