Controlling lighting and blinds via Wi-Fi

Sonata Touch Wi-Fi switches are a solution for those who want to control lighting and blinds from a mobile app. The devices work with the popular Tuya Smart Life app, allowing, among other things:

  • remotely turning lights on and off,
  • creation of time schedules,
  • group control,
  • integration with voice assistants (Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa),
  • remote control of blinds - with the option to set intermediate positions.

Thanks to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi communication, the switches do not require any additional gateways or PBX, which significantly simplifies installation.

Construction and variants of Sonata Touch Wi-Fi switches

Sonata Touch Wi-Fi devices are part of Ospel's Sonata modular electrical fixture system. They are available in several functional versions, including:

  • single touch switch (on/off),
  • two-group touch switch,
  • touch switch for controlling roller blinds (with up/down function),

The fronts are made of high-quality tempered glass - in smooth or frosted variants - available in two universal colors: black and white.
The devices communicate with the app via a built-in Wi-Fi module, and status signaling is realized by LED backlighting (with orientation function).

Installation - fast, hassle-free, in a standard box

Installation of the Sonata Touch Wi-Fi switch is not significantly different from the installation of a classic switch. The most important technical aspects are:

  • flush mounting in a Ø60 mm box,
  • supply voltage: 230 V,
  • permissible load: up to 100 W LED, 750 W GLS
  • neutral wire (N) required,
  • screw terminals, L / N / L1 or L2 type connections (depending on function),
  • automatic calibration of the touch function after connection.

Installation is reduced to embedding the mechanism in the box, connecting the wires according to the diagram and mounting the glass panel - no tools required.

Configuration and commissioning in the application

After connecting the switch to the power supply and mounting the fixture, go to the mobile application (Tuya Smart Life), select the option to add a new device and connect it to the home Wi-Fi network. The switch will automatically enter pairing mode (indicated by a flashing backlight), and the entire setup process takes no more than 2-3 minutes.

Once the device is added, the user can use advanced options:

  • creation of scenes and automation (e.g. the light turns on after sunset),
  • integration with other smart home devices,
  • linking to a weekly schedule,
  • control of multiple devices simultaneously - from a single panel.
