Venice Architecture Biennale 2025
The Venice Architecture Biennale is one of the most important events in the world of architecture - ideas, diagnoses and visions for the future of our cities and architecture come together during its several months of duration. The main exhibition in the Arsenale, the national pavilions in the Giardini, and dozens of events scattered throughout Venice attract nearly 200,000 visitors each year - architects, curators, students, activists, politicians, artists.
This year, the Biennale's curator, Carlo Ratti, gave it the title "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.", focusing attention on the relationship between technology, the environment and the community dimension of design. We analyze how it was developed in the main exhibition, which national pavilions attract the most attention - and how the exhibition in the Polonia Pavilion compares.
In the second part of the issue we move to Krakow. We present the long-awaited master plan for the Wesoła district - an area with a strong identity, full of history, tensions and untapped potential. We recall the history of this part of the city and consider the direction in which its development is heading today.
