purpose

The purpose of the competition for the development of the area located on Dworska Street in Siemianowice Slaskie is to select the most interesting works that would illustrate the potential of this area as an urban participatory garden. This is one of the many revitalization projects enshrined in the adopted "Municipal Revitalization Program of the City of Siemianowice Śląskie until 2030".

terms and conditions

The competition is a one-stage competition and is aimed at male and female students of the 4th or 5th year of unified master's studies, 1st or 2nd year of master's studies and the last semester of engineering studies in the field of architecture, architecture and urban planning, landscape architecture, spatial management or urban planning. Each person may submit one competition work.

The competition work is a document containing the development of an original concept for the development of the site, which is a plot of land with the geodetic number 524/18 (precinct 51), with an area of 9.1926 hectares, located in Siemianowice Slaskie, north of Dworska Street.

The plot of land is covered by the "Local zoning plan for the area located in the area of Dworska, Spokojna, Michalkowicka, Entrepreneurs, Zwycięstwa, Henryk Krupanek and Krucza Streets together with the areas of the golf course in Siemianowice Slaskie", published in the Official Journal of the Silesian Voivodeship in 2021 under item 6979.

The electronic version of the basic map of the area to which the competition applies is attached as Annex No. 6.

In preparing the concept of land development, one can use the materials published in the Geoportal of the City of Siemianowice Śląskie at: siemianowice.geoportal2.pl.

The concept developed as part of the competition should assume the creation of a space on the land owned by the municipality on Dworska Street called "Paradise Garden" - an urban, participatory garden located next to the recreation and leisure complex Bażantarnia in Siemianowice Śląskie, right on the borders of the degraded and revitalization area.In addition to the leisure and biodiversity zone, the garden will have a place dedicated to social participation and building new local ties thanks to installed small architecture or applied street art.

The organizer is keen to locate architectural objects and elements of site arrangement for the realization of complementary functions:

• recreational,
• social,
• artistic,
• didactic,
• sports,
• economic.

The concept should take into account the conditions arising from the designed Walking Alley leading from Dworska Street to Rzęsa Pond.

The land development concept should be developed on the basis of the guidelines, included in Appendix 4 to the regulations, and include at least the following elements:

• graphic design of land development, including in particular: the arrangement of new architectural objects (small architecture, sanitary junction),
• communication layout (parking, pedestrian and bicycle routes), taking into account the designed Walking Alley, the drawing of which of the site development design is attached as Annex No. 7,
• arrangement of green areas, with designation of the types of plantings,
• arrangement of the necessary elements of technical infrastructure,
• illustrative drawings (photos) and descriptions of individual architectural solutions (buildings, small architecture) and elements of space management (e.g. benches, lamp posts, waste containers, etc.),
• view photos and description of the technical solutions adopted for the traffic system (type of pavement, edging),
• overview photos and description of designed plantings,
• description and scheme of irrigation system, drainage, retention and reuse of rainwater,
• a cost estimate of the work required to implement the concept.

prizes

The main prize is a paid internship at Frantagroup Architects.

The evaluation will be based on:

• the degree of implementation of the organizer's guidelines,
• originality of the development concept,
• aesthetic qualities of the proposed solutions,
• the actual possibility of implementing the concept,
• anticipated costs of necessary works and maintenance of the object,
• quality of workmanship, including graphic design,
• compliance with the conditions and directions arising from the strategic documents of the Siemianowice Śląskie Municipality: the Development Strategy of the City of Siemianowice Śląskie until 2030, the Municipal Revitalization Program of the City of Siemianowice Śląskie until 2030, as well as compliance with the current local zoning plan.
