The competition is organized by the Hugo Kołłątaj Agricultural University, Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy, Department of Spatial Management and Landscape Architecture, with the participation of the National University of Water Management and Natural Resources Management in Rivne (Ukraine) and the State Historical and Cultural Reserve in Dubna.

purpose

The purpose of the competition is to prepare a design concept for the development of the courtyard of the Ostrogski-Lubomirski Castle in Dubna (Ukraine), including a playground.

terms and conditions

The competition is one-stage and is aimed at male and female students. Each person, or team can submit one competition work.

The subject of the competition is a design work including a design concept for the castle courtyard together with a design concept for the playground.

The competition work should be characterized by:

• functionality and legibility of the adopted solutions,
• architectural and landscape value of the adopted solutions,
• feasibility of the project.

The competition work should be presented in a clear and understandable manner.

The graphic part consists of a maximum of three boards of 100 × 70 cm in any arrangement.

Thescope of the graphic part includes:

• conceptual diagrams and/or conceptual sketches,
• projection of the establishment (courtyard) in a scale of 1:250,
• projection of the playground - scale to be detailed 1:100,
• functional diagrams,
• two cross sections of the courtyard - scale 1:250,
• one cross-section through the playground - scale 1:100,
• two selected details showing the adopted structural and material solutions,
• lighting scheme with visualization in terms of day - night,
• objects of small architecture (minimum 2),
• selection of materials,
• selection of plants - illustrative dendrological inventory in Appendix 2 to the regulations,
• visualizations: 1 shot of the whole from the bird's eye view, a minimum of 4 shots from the human level.

Scope of the competition work - text part:

• the text part consists of one copy of the descriptive part in A4 format,
• the volume of the text should not exceed 5 numbered pages, the text should contain a detailed description of the ideological assumptions and the concept of development and land use, description of the architectural and landscape concept in terms of functional-spatial solutions, materials,
• it is allowed to illustrate the text of the description with diagrams and other drawings, provided that they fit within the volume of 5 pages.

• deadline for receipt of competition works - April 30, 2024,
• announcement of results - June 2024.

prizes

The following prizes funded by the JM Rector of the Hugo Kołłątaj Agricultural University in Cracow will be awarded in the competition:

• 1st Prize - 1000 euros,
• II Prize - 600 euros,
• Third Prize - 400 euros.

The awards ceremony and public announcement of the competition results will take place in June 2024, at the University of Agriculture in Krakow.
