The competition for a recreational and leisure park for the residents of Dubeninki is settled

descriptionOn January 27, 2025, at a gala ceremony in the Hall of the Faculty of Architecture at the Bialystok University of Technology, the results of the competition "Recreation and leisure park for the residents ofDubeninki" were announced,organized by the Municipality of Dubeninki in cooperation with the Bialystok University of Technology.
The competition was attended by male and female students of the fifth semester of architecture, who visited the locality at the beginning of the semester, familiarizing themselves with the study area and the design guidelines.
The competition entries included a conceptual design for the development of the site on a scale of 1:200 and proposals for spatial solutions along with the selection of plant species.
The competition committee, chaired by the Dean of the PB Faculty of Architecture - Prof. Tatiana Misijuk, evaluated 22 submitted concepts and selected the winners and runners-up. The evaluation criteria included attractiveness of the idea, creativity of solutions, correctness and compliance with regulations, as well as aesthetics, consistency and graphic quality of the works. Three main prizes and four honorable mentions were awarded.
First place was won by Wojciech Gryko and Mateusz Suszko for their work "Stork's Nest."
Second place went to Tomasz Musiuk and Jakub Skarzynski for their work "Prussian Homage Park."
Third place (ex aequo) was awarded to Gabriela Czech and Izabela Mikolajewska and Alesia Duka and Andrei Vusko.
Honorable mentions were awarded to Kamilia Czarkowska and the following teams: Michał Ponikwicki and Dominika Stocka; Joanna Ryczkowska and Piotr Sacharewicz; Paulina Uszyńska and Natalia Woronko; and Wiktoria Wierciszewska and Julia Natalia Ziniewicz.
The substantive supervisor of the competition was Prof. Halina Lapinskaya, who oversaw the design work and the evaluation of the submitted concepts.
The competition was an excellent opportunity for male and female students to face real urban planning challenges and to gain valuable design experience.
