author's description

The design of the prefabricated module and its application in the arranged residential space is an attempt to respond to two problems that I have undertaken. The first is the limited access to qualified contractors. Increasingly, this problem affects investors who want unorthodox, custom-designed furniture built-ins in their interiors, characterized by high quality workmanship and attention to detail workmanship. High-quality prefabricated interior modules incorporating the key functions of living spaces can provide an alternative. The modules I have proposed are diverse in function and can be available in several material options. Prefabricated solutions can represent an optimization in terms of time and cost of production, significantly affecting the implementation time of a design project. The idea is to expand the range of available modules in the future with additional functions and versions adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

The second issue I have taken up is the progressive problem of housing, consisting of an insufficient number of apartments with the ever-increasing housing needs of Poles. The adaptation of old, disused industrial buildings into residential facilities is an increasingly common solution both in Europe and around the world. Such solutions can also have an indirect impact on the existing urban fabric by breathing new life into the immediate neighborhood. The project I have developed is an attempt to respond to both problems. It is a concept for the adaptation of an old factory building at 23 Długosza St. in Szczecin into a residential facility, taking into account the designed modules in the arranged spaces.

opinion of SARP Szczecin branch

Representatives of the Szczecin branch of SARP - Anna Pazdur-Czarnowska and Paweł Krawczyk - unanimously awarded SARP's special prize to the work ModuLOVE by student Katarzyna Kozłowska. The concept of a utility unit combining the function of a bathroom, kitchen and storage space was considered innovative and universal. At the same time, the complex analysis of its structure, transportability and assembly deserves praise for an undergraduate diploma. The graphic value of the charts and high-quality visualizations were also appreciated.
