Jury opinion

"Park Deszczowy," a project by Marta Szar, a student at the Cracow University of Technology, redefines a currently unused area in Cracow. Despite being surrounded by urbanized neighborhoods, the site still boasts a diverse topography, hydrography and biological zone. The project includes the implementation of two assumptions. On the one hand, it assumes the creation of an urban zone that is a recreational area for residents, and on the other, it uses the bird sanctuary to create a natural zone. After extensive research of local needs and a series of urban and landscape analyses, a proposal for a new park was created. The designed urban recreational area is clearly divided into zones where visitors are only guests.
