Mube

Mube is a social building dedicated to commerce, art and gastronomic gatherings with a floor dedicated to this use. The building stands on a plot of land in the south of Barcelona, a strategic point that meets the intersection of four streets on its edges. The 10,000-square-meter plot is 50% dedicated to a public square, the center of which is bisected by a water's edge that marks the access point to the facilities.
The building is sunk into the ground, and its curvature creates a gentle slope that marks access to the building. Cuts in its 4 facades, from ground to floor, rise to higher levels, generating teardrops that are filled with vegetation hanging from the walls.
Inside, a dome covered with ceramic tiles decorated in black brass connects the structure and adds to the spatial experience, creating a pathway in which to visualize artworks. A ramp at its center rises as an access point to the two upper levels, which serve as retail spaces for consumption and work (in that order).
jury opinion
In third place was Andres Quevedo with his work Mube. The unusual streamlined structure surprises with its fine shapes reminiscent of the inside of a tree. The site stimulates the imagination and opens up to nature, adapting to the inside of the solids. The design features Wood, Sophie Oro, Grand Cave and Tender Stone tiles from Tubądzin Group, which highlighted the fanciful design effect.
