Aleksandra Matusiak

Second degree student of Interior Design at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznan.

I am originally from Kalisz, but currently reside in Poznan and it is here that I associate my professional future. In my university activities, I have always tried to approach projects in an unconventional way, while combining functionality and interior aesthetics. I always try to smuggle nature into projects through material, form or lighting. As I am a huge fan of travel, it helps me to look at space from a different perspective and pour experiences from different regions into the design. This is how I came up with my thesis, entitled Gravity, which was inspired by a trip to the Polish Tatra Mountains and observation of the environment associated with the mountains. Behind the love of nature, also came an interest in environmentalism. Recently, I have begun to pay special attention to the materials and technologies used. This is because I hope that many of them will contribute to the fight against global problems. Circular economy, renewable energy sources or recycled materials are frequent attributes of my work. I value conscious design and wish to expand my own knowledge and that of those around me by promoting innovative solutions.
