Brickworks from the novel, architecture from the imagination

Jakub Staszak

He is a young architect, a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology, from which he graduated with honors. His diploma was awarded the title Diploma of the Year by SARP O/Wybrzeże. He currently works at GDA Architekci in Gdansk, where he has been combining design with practice since the beginning of his career, focusing on modern technologies such as BIM and artificial intelligence. Thanks to them, he creates precise, functional and sustainable spaces, where people and the quality of their surroundings are the most important.

The spirit of place - the memory, history and story that shape the identity of a space - plays an important role in his projects. An example of this approach is the concept of the Weiser Brickworks, inspired by the novel Weiser Dawidek by Pawel Huelle, in which architecture becomes a medium for individual experience and rediscovery of the city.

Outside of work, he appreciates good literature and travel. An abiding curiosity about the world inspires him both professionally and privately.
