Magdalena Tryba

Graduate of the High School of Fine Arts in Tarnow with a specialization in artistic textiles, as well as bachelor's and master's studies at the Faculty of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She also studied at the Laboratories of Contemporary Culture - a second degree program at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University in Cracow. In her artistic practice, she focuses on working with found materials and objects of both natural and artificial origin. She is interested in the phenomenon of collecting as a special kind of performance, as well as further work with materials collected during this practice. In her artwork, she seeks to experiment with different materials inspired by their found structure, biomorphic aesthetics and formlessness (formlessness). He mainly creates assemblages, small objects and larger installations and exhibitions. She also reaches for video and performance. Author of solo exhibitions: Observatory (2016), See What I Found (2023), Pockets Full of Stones (2024-2025), { magpie pen, sea glass, key, ..., ∞ } That is, about what and how one collects (2026); as well as numerous exhibitions and group projects, among which can be mentioned: Everything that is no longer there or will not be there in a while (2022), Startups (2021) or 12 Hours of What? (2024, 2025). Since 2022 she has been working at the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow as an assistant, and since 2023 as curator of the ASAP Student Gallery. She is co-founder of the independent SN2022A Gallery in Krakow, Poland, as well as the Brut Collective.
