Marcel Wolosik

A Polish-American student majoring in Architectural Technology at Sussex County Technical School in New Jersey, USA.
He was born and raised in the United States in a family originally from Białystok. From a very young age, he has spoken both Polish and English, and his family strives to nurture his connection to Polish culture and heritage.
His interest in architecture began at an early age and has continued to grow through his school studies, drawing, travel, and participation in design competitions. The proximity to New York City gives him the opportunity to experience architecture up close, and visiting the works of renowned architects—particularly Frank Lloyd Wright—serves as an important source of inspiration for him.
At Sussex Tech, Marcel is studying architectural design under the guidance of Joe David, AIA, gaining hands-on experience in design, technical drawing, CAD software, and BIM technology. As he himself points out, the opportunity to begin his architectural education as early as high school, along with the support of his teachers and mentors, had a huge impact on the development of his passion.
In 2026, his project CloudDeck One won the People’s Choice Award in the first nationwide edition of the K–12 Design Competition Celebration, organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). That same year, Marcel also won the Congressional Art Competition in New Jersey’s 5th congressional district, and his work was selected for an annual exhibition at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Drawing has always been one of his greatest passions. He prefers to work with pencil and Prismacolor crayons. He has also completed several drawing courses taught by illustrator and author Barbara DiLorenzo, developing skills that he now applies to architectural design as well.
In addition to architecture, Marcel is interested in film and works as a DJ at family gatherings and local events. He is also an assistant instructor of Brazilian jiuat the Lake Mohawk MMA club in Sparta, New Jersey, where he helps lead classes for younger athletes. He is also active in Scouts BSA Troop 90 in Franklin, New Jersey, where he is working toward earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout. In his free time, he trains in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and wrestling, plays tennis, rides a mountain bike, travels, and explores the architecture of different cities and cultures.
Marcel would like to continue studying architecture in the future and believes that the best designs are born out of curiosity about the world, creativity, and a constant desire to develop his skills.
