Crossboundaries

Crossboundaries is an international architecture studio that has been consistently redefining the boundaries of design since 2005. Its mission is to create architecture that is sustainable, innovative and deeply rooted in the human experience. The studio's designs not only respond to technical and functional challenges, but also build an atmosphere that connects aesthetics to the human dimension of everyday life.

Founded in Beijing by Binke Lenhardt and Hao Dong, and also developed in Frankfurt in collaboration with Antje Voigt since 2012, the studio functions as a platform for cultural and intellectual exchange. The team consists of designers with international roots and diverse experience, which translates into a unique ability to interpret local contexts in a modern and universal way.

Crossboundaries designs on a wide range of scales - from urban planning and large-scale public buildings, to interiors, art installations and research projects. Their portfolio includes the Aimer lingerie factory, educational complexes for Beida University, family and cultural centers, as well as showrooms and offices created in collaboration with brands such as Siemens and BMW.

The studio actively participates in the international discourse on architecture. Its projects have been presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale and in Beijing as part of the China House Vision initiative, among others. Crossboundaries regularly publishes in leading industry magazines, conducts research, lectures at universities (including CAFA, Tsinghua) and is committed to educating future generations of architects.

The studio has received numerous awards for its projects, including the Design Educates Award (2025), Architecture MasterPrize (2023 ), Azure Awards (2023) and Architizer A+ (2022 ). Each award confirms not only the high technical and aesthetic level of the projects, but also their innovative impact on the way architecture shapes the human experience.

Crossboundaries is more than an architectural office - it is the idea of a creative dialogue in which architecture becomes a medium that connects people, places and culture.
