Mayor of the City of Krakow Aleksander Miszalski has announced the first edition of the Award of the Mayor of the City of Krakow for the best architectural and urban planning objects of the Capital Royal City of Krakow. Eligible for the competition are the best projects completed and put into use in the last two years before the announcement of the competition.
terms and conditions
Candidates for the Award for the best architectural and urban planning realization in Krakow may be submitted by the residents of Krakow, but also by the authors of the projects, investors, trade and professional organizations, as well as implementing entities.
Objects submitted for the Award must be located within the administrative boundaries of Krakow, and each submission should include object identification data, photographic and/or drawing documentation, a description of the architectural concept (no longer than 1 typed page), as well as details of the author's composition and the investor.
The Jury of the competition will award the Prize of the President of the City of Cracow for the best architectural and urban planning objects of the Capital Royal City of Cracow in four categories:
- Residential architecture - single-family or multi-family residential buildings, residential complexes, estates, multi-functional buildings with a predominantly residential function
- Public architecture - public buildings and complexes in accordance with the scope of the definition of a public building in §3 item 6 of the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of April 12, 2002 on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location
- Design of public space - public spaces (streets, avenues, squares, promenades, promenades), green areas (parks, squares, greens), engineering facilities (bridges, footbridges, interchanges, combined parking lots), small architecture and urban furniture, permanent artistic objects;
- New life of the urban fabric - revitalization, modernization, renovation or conservation of buildings, complexes of buildings, park and garden layouts, spaces in the historic fabric of the city
The jury of the competition for the Award of the Mayor of the City of Krakow for the best architectural and urban planning objects of the Capital Royal City of Krakow will evaluate the submitted entries, taking into account the architectural and urban planning value, innovativeness of design solutions, pro-environmental solutions and quality of workmanship and detail.

The chairman of the jury will be appointed by the Mayor of the City of Cracow on the basis of the indications of the Director of the Department of Spatial Order.

Awards will be given in each category on a three-stage scale. The announcement of the results will take place at a gala ceremony organized by the Office of the City of Krakow, and the Award Winners will receive a statuette and a diploma signed by the Mayor of the City of Krakow and the Chief Architect of the City.
