House in Warmia. Green Line from Mobius Architects

28 of May '20

Minimalist, yet perfectly integrated into the topography of the area, the Green Line single-family house is the architectural pride of Warmia. Designed by Przemek Olczyk of Mobius Architects of Warsaw, it won the Grand Prix in the 2019-2020 European Property Awards.

Thehouse in Warmia blends in with its surroundings, creating a harmonious whole with it, yet maintaining a minimalist, modern and austere character. What sets it apart is the unique green roof, which forms a single line with the hill located on the plot. Hence the name of the building - Green Line. In the design assumptions the house was to be as close to nature as possible. Hence the inscription of the block in the topography and large-scale glazing, which blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior.

beautiful views and large windows

A house made of concrete and glass is a space, a modern one, and therefore equipped with amenities to facilitate daily life. Hence the energy-efficient windows (a window and door system with a thermal baffle), transparent atrium covers, sturdylift-and-slide doors, and SilentClose brake for safety of use.

According to Dariusz Papierz, an object consultant from G-U Poland, responsible for selecting G-U solutions that meet the design requirements at Green Line:

All large-scale terrace glazing was created using ALUPROF's aluminum system, which uses system solutions for G-U's HS-type lift-and-slide terrace doors in the RC2 burglary protection class. It's a solution created specifically for massive terrace doors, both panoramic and corner, which allow the maximum opening of the interior space of the house to the surroundings.

safe home

Green Line is located away from other developments, so to increase security, it was equipped with access control solutions.

First of all, the developer opted for biometric solutions, providing residents with secure access to the house without the need for a key. This is made possible by combining a GU-SECURY Automatic multi-point lock with an A-Öffner Servo motor in the front door, data transmission via SECUREconnect 200 and the use of a fingerprint reader," explains Dariusz Papierz.

The house from Mobius Architects is a unique project, blending in with its surroundings and, thanks to its huge terrace windows, bridging the barrier between architecture and nature.
