A house with two terraces by Glowacki PAG Architecture Studio

16 of March '20

The house with terraces belongs to the special series of "Headed Houses" of the Studio of Architecture Glowacki PAG created especially for those looking for ready-made projects, which will be characterized by originality and good design. The designers wanted to create modern and functional buildings that respond to the needs of modern families.

Such is the House with Two Terraces from {tag:Studio}. Huge ceiling-to-floor windows, located on both sides of the building, illuminate the ground-floor rooms, visually enlarging them. Wooden elements of the facade correspond with the terrace floor, which creates a colorful counterbalance to the dark block. These light fillings placed in the recesses of the windows add spatial variety to the building, complementing it visually, making the whole coherent. Two terraces provide privacy and space for all household members. Children can spend time on one, while parents enjoy the other. Since both face a different side of the house, they can serve - each for a different purpose. An interesting idea is the placement of trees growing from the center of the terrace, which act as "natural sunshades." Together, this zone - of both terraces and the living area of the house - forms the center of family life, a usable and restful space where every household member will want to be.

In their design, the architects wanted to refer to the tradition of Scandinavian design - hence the restrained forms, natural materials and design with nature in mind.
