Paula Smolka

In 2019, I graduated from High School of Arts No. 18 in Zabrze and received a diploma in Interior Design. The subject of my diploma thesis was the concept of the body and arrangement of a modular house with an art studio.

After high school, I began my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, majoring in Design. I am interested in both 2D and 3D design, however, during my studies I was most fulfilled in the Studio of Public Space Design, where as asemester project, I created the project "Sphere of Books - a portable reading room", which won an award in 2022 in the competition "Arting" in the category of Bielsko-Biala and in 2023 an honorable mention in the architectural competition Buildner "Portable Reading Rooms".

In 2023 I defended my bachelor's degree with honors - "Interior design of a sauna for people using a wheelchair". The sauna project was implemented in cooperation with sauna manufacturer LifePolska and was also implemented within the framework of the "Good Innovations" project in Cieszyn. In 2023 it was awarded in the "DNA Paris Design Award" competition with the main prize in the Interior Design - Sustainable Living category.

I am mainly interested in universal design, socially useful design. In my projects I would like to focus on accessibility for people with disabilities, vulnerable to exclusion.

From October 2023, I will continue my education in the second degree program also at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
