Modern office buildings are designed differently today than they were a decade ago. The work space is to be not only functional, but also transparent and friendly - both to the user and the environment. Glass has become one of the key materials of this trend, and with it has grown the importance of details that allow this transparency to be technically encapsulated. Glass hardware - hinges, handles, grips, today act as silent allies of architecture. They determine whether a delicate sheet of glass will become a stable, durable and comfortable element of a modern office.
Glass doors in office spaces - the role of hinges in everyday use
Glass doors, especially in modern office buildings, are no longer just a partition separating spaces, but a thoughtful part of the concept of the entire space. Their operation must be smooth, and the sheet when moving must be stable and safe to use - that's why hinges are a key element of the system. Properly selected, they determine whether heavy tempered glass will retain its visual lightness and functional reliability.

This element must be strong enough to support the heavy weight of the sheet, and at the same time discreet enough not to interfere with the composition. In practice, it is worth paying attention to the utility class - WALA hinges have the highest, twelfth class, which translates into their durability and resistance to intensive use. Also important is the tolerance range for the thickness of glass - WALA solutions allow installation on a sheet of 8 to 12 mm, which gives great freedom in the choice of materials.

How an employee perceives the surrounding space is often determined not by the shape or size of the sheet, but by the way it is opened on a daily basis. Therefore, magnetic door handles, must work precisely and, most importantly, subtly.

One practical solution is door stops, which protect the glass from hitting the wall or other fixtures. In offices, where drafts or heavy user traffic can lead to accidental collisions, their presence is almost essential. Floor-mounted stoppers, made of durable stainless steel and equipped with a ring of UV-resistant rubber, effectively absorb the energy of door opening. As a result, they prevent glass breakage, and their neutral form allows them to blend in with the surroundings - regardless of the style of the arrangement.

Another element that affects the safety of use are locks for glass doors. They allow the door to be locked on two sides or one side with a standard key, which is especially useful in rooms that require limited access - such as conference rooms, offices or archives. Installation is possible in two variants: horizontally, just below the magnetic handle, or vertically, at the bottom of the leaf. In the latter case, the bolt enters the floor catch, ensuring a solid lock.
