Technically, FlexStep is a system of four lifting columns that work in full synchronization - so the platform stays level throughout the movement. From the user's level, the mechanism is extremely simple:

1. The user calls the device with a button (up/down).
2. The staircase unfolds into the form of a platform.
3. Once the barrier is secured, the platform smoothly rises or lowers.
4. When the cycle is complete, the system returns to the staircase position.

This is complete automation - the user doesn't need to take any additional steps.
