"Immortal design. Eternal architecture. Live to the age of the Empire State Building and continue to be as hot as a Barcelona chair" is the slogan of the 8th edition of 4 Design Days! The first two days of the event at the International Congress Center in Katowice will be for business (January 25 and 26), the next two will be open days (January 27 and 28). 4DD is an opportunity to present new trends in design and architecture, a space for discussion and networking among experts, city authorities, architects, designers, investors, developers and manufacturers.
What will 2024 bring for the construction industry? What should building recycling look like in practice? The event's program includes discussions focusing on sustainability and value in design and architecture, invited guests will also discuss, among other things, what activities have a disruptive effect on design andarchitecture, about mistakes made by creators, the importance of craftsmanship, the impact of design on human health and well-being, the impact of the economic situation on the architecture sector and the idea of a city without borders.

Indian architect Ananya Singhal of Studio Saar will be the special guest speaker of the Masters of Architecture series. This year's speakers include Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys, Ewa Kuryłowicz, Rainer Mahlamäki, Piotr Kuczia, Maciej Franta, Robert Konieczny, Piotr Fokczyński, Oskar Grąbczewski, Tomasz Konior and Marta Sękulska-Wrońska.

Ola Kloc: The slogan of this year's 4 Design Days is "Immortal design. Eternal architecture." What, in your opinion, proves the timelessness of architecture? What are we doing wrong today when designing buildings?
MAŁECCY design office: The worst buildings are those that are non-functional, or wrongly designed at all. But if we are talking about immortality, then they must have some divine element of the Creator in them - transcendence and beauty. Then they are worth fighting for, so that they accompany people for centuries.
Ola: You are taking part in the session "People, then buildings", how do you think architecture can influence social attitudes?
MAŁECCY design office: In our opinion, we architects only create scenography - a real house, a city, a living space is created by people, residents, it depends on them whether there is love, happiness, acceptance. Undoubtedly, beautiful and functional spaces inspire beautiful moments, but they are no substitute for human relationships.
Ola: The 4 Design Days program offers presentations and discussions in five thematic sessions - Architecture, Design, City, Interiors and Green Buildings. Which of these particularly caught your attention?
MAŁECCY design office: All of them are interesting - the city creates a system for the development of architecture, where beautiful design can resonate - these elements intermingle a lot and it is difficult to separate them from each other. It is worth looking at the speakers and participants to choose the most suitable for your needs.
