Kraków reborn

400! We have dedicated the anniversary issue of A&B to our beloved city—Kraków. It is here that we have been publishing for over thirty years: writing, analyzing, talking to the best architects, showcasing Polish and foreign architecture and urban planning.

Kraków—or rather, Kraków reborn—is a subject that particularly fascinates us today. We look at the moment the city is in: strong with its historical and cultural identity, while constantly adding layers of spatial development. We try to capture, understand and define this moment in order to tell the story of Kraków as it is today, and as it may become tomorrow.

In this issue, we give the floor to architects and representatives of the city government. Their insights—practical, strategic, but also passionate—capture the key threads for Kraków's further spatial development. This is a conversation about responsibility, vision and courage in shaping the urban future.

Four hundred issues are not only a source of pride for us, but also a moment of reflection. Each of these issues is a record of fascination, conversations and meetings—with architecture, with people, with places. Thank you for being with us in this story about space.

Because architecture, like the city, is a living story.
It never ends.
