Davide Macullo Architects

Davide Macullo Architects is a Swiss architectural studio based in Lugano, founded by Davide Macullo - an architect born in Giornico in 1965, who for two decades (1990-2010) was the chief designer at Mario Botta's atelier, responsible for more than 200 projects around the world. Since 2000, he has been running his own studio, whose philosophy is based on the idea of "drawing from context," which means creating architecture that is embedded in the local environment, yet open to universal cultural and spatial values.

The scope of the studio's work is broad, encompassing not only the architecture of public, residential, commercial and public buildings, but also urban planning, interior design, furniture design, contemporary art consulting, as well as the development of visual identity and branding for clients.

The studio's work is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, great sensitivity to cultural and landscape context, and attention to detail and quality of space - both utilitarian and aesthetic.
