Superimpose Architecture

Superimpose Architecture is an international design studio operating in the Netherlands and Asia. The studio specializes in architecture, urban planning, interior design, and exhibition design, with a particular focus on urban architecture and the transformation of existing structures. In their projects, the architects place great emphasis on the local context—the history of the site, the needs of the community, and the existing built environment. An integral part of their approach is also the adaptation and reuse of existing structures, as well as minimizing the consumption of materials and energy. The name “Superimpose” refers to the idea of layering new solutions over the existing layers of the city, architecture, and history, rather than completely replacing them. The team works on projects across Europe and Asia, ranging from interior renovations and public spaces to larger-scale urban and mixed-use developments.
