awarded the Grand Prix to Marcelina Pilarczyk, Piotr Kociński, and Tomasz Florkowski for the revitalization of the historic center of Jarocin. The winners also received a parallel award in the Shared Space category. A joint award was also granted for the design of the Open Courtyard in front of the Castle by Aleksander Wadas Studio and Landscape Practice.
By a unanimous decision of the Jury, the Young Artist Award was presented to Łukasz Gąska. As emphasized in the justification for the decision, the award was granted for “consistency in forging his own professional path, significant participation in design competitions, and a conscious and reflective attitude toward the architectural profession.” His body of work to date, which includes numerous awards and honors in national and international competitions, reveals an architect who, from the very beginning of his career, has treated competitions as a vital arena for exploration, the confrontation of ideas, and the development of his own craft. The continuity of this activity deserves special attention — from his successes as a student and his nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Foundation’s Young Talent Architecture Award to the contemporary achievements of the studio he co-leads. However, the jury appreciated not only his achievements to date but also Łukasz Gąska’s attitude, as revealed during his interview with the Selection Committee. We noted his reflective nature, curiosity, and openness, as well as his willingness to question his own choices. His path is not presented as obvious or complete — it remains a process of seeking his own place and way of practicing architecture. It was precisely this combination of consistency and openness to change, experience and the need for further development, as well as past successes and a critical view of his own work, that convinced the jury that Łukasz Gąska embodies the spirit of the NAWW Young Artist Award in a unique way.”
