27 of May '20

On May 28 at 18:00 there will be another online lecture in the Masters of Architecture series organized by the Katowice branch of SARP. The guest of the second live will be Juan Carlos Romero - a Colombian architect representing the Carlo Ratti Associati studio. You are welcome!

Carlo Ratti Associati is an Italian studio with headquarters in Turin and branches in Boston and London. The architects combine design with cutting-edge digital technologies in their projects, creating architecture that feels and reacts.

The digital revolution and the digitalization of an ever-increasing area of the world is a fact of life and affects our daily lives. How does it relate to architecture? The studio's representatives believe that by integrating architecture with digital technologies, it can respond more effectively to user needs. What's more, they believe, when a building is more intelligent and automated, the user becomes more aware and willing to make sustainable decisions.

The Carlo Ratti Associati studio made headlines recently with its CURA project - containers converted into modular intensive care units to relieve overcrowded hospitals during coronavirus outbreaks. The first prototypes have already been implemented in Milan - one of Europe's largest pandemic outbreaks.

A guest at the next lecture in the Masters of Architecture series, Juan Carlos Romero's work focuses on how people interact with each other and the built environment. During Thursday's meeting on Instagram, the architect will talk about the era of digital civilization and its impact on modern cities. Part of the meeting will take the form of a Q&A, so the audience will be able to ask questions live.
